U-17/18: Kevin Garcia-Lopez
Position: Defender
Club: Pateadores
The Pateadores saw only their second divisional game this past weekend with a tie against Irvine Strikers in a 2-2 draw. Kevin Garcia-Lopez went the distance in the match, helping to hold their opponents to only two goals. The starter helped the Pats record their first tie of season. Next on the schedule are two local games with Real So Cal and Arsenal, then the teams travel north to face Washington Premier and Crossfire Premier.
U-15/16
Kevin Alva
Club: Pateadores/South Bay Force
Position: Center Back
Kevin Alva (SBF BU-17 Black) helped his side begin the month of May on the right foot by defeating LAFC Chelsea 2-1 at home. Deployed as a center back in the Pateadores/South Bay Force defense, Alva was the driving force behind a tight, organized back line that was under pressure for the entire game.
Pateadores/South Bay Force do not have to travel far throughout the next month as they play a number of matches within the friendly confines of their home facility. Their final away match takes place next weekend as the team travels to local Southern California club, LAFC Chelsea, in hopes of picking up three points once again.
U16 Pateadores/South Bay Force lost the return match @ LAFC Chelsea but beat MLS Youth Club Chivas USA 3-1 Sunday May 9th with goals from Miguel Lira (SBF BU-17 Blue), Jose Rivera (SBF Bu-16) and Roberto Escudero. Pats/SBF can also credit great Goalkeeping from Adrian Hirt (SBF BU-17 Black) who came on as a sub for injured GK Kyle Zuniga.
