South Bay Force Technical Director Todd Saldaña would like to announce our U.S. Development Academy partnership with Coast Soccer League standout Pateadores.  The U.S.D.A. is considered the highest level of play in the United States for a youth player. South Bay Force’s top BU15-19 male players will now have the opportunity to be part of the player pool and be selected to play in the U.S. Development Academy league through a unique partnership with the Pateadores Soccer Club.

USDA Player’s of The Week named for the week of January 11th, 2010!  U17/U18 Player of the Week: Pateadores’ Kevin Garcia-Lopez.  The Pateadores saw only their second divisional game this past weekend with a tie against Irvine Strikers in a 2-2 draw. Kevin Garcia-Lopez went the distance in the match, helping to hold their opponents to only two goals.

Last week, we received news that Isaiah Coronado, from our Boys Under 9 Blue team, coached by Pierre Barrieu, was taken into the hospital after the discovery of a tumor in the head.  After numerous tests including, a Spinal Tap, bone marrow tests and a CT Scan - Leukemia has been ruled out - thankfully!  Chemotherapy has now begun and Isaiah has begun the recovery process.

On Monday, November 23rd, Mia Mason, from our Under 13 Black team, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Prior to that, she had been experiencing headaches which had gotten progressively worse. Her pediatrician (Dr. Negar Ghafouri @ the UCLA clinic in Manhattan Beach) ordered a CT Scan which discovered what they thought was bleeding in her brain. She was admitted to UCLA Medical Center where an MRI confirmed she did indeed have a tumor.

On November 20, 2009, Cal South’s Olympic Development Program proudly announced its selections for its 2009-2010 ODP Winter Pools. The talented boys and girls who have been chosen for this honor now go into training over the next month in preparation for the US Youth Soccer ODP Region IV Championships, which will be held in Phoenix, Arizona from January 16-19, 2010.  Congratulations to the following South Bay Force players:
